Linda Waldman, is a fellow based at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex.  As a social anthropologist, her research has focused on diverse dimensions of poverty, and the related issues of gender, civil society, and identity. She has researched indigenous hunter-gatherer identities, farm workers and adolescence, environmental policy processes, and environmental health with a particular interest in asbestos and disease.  With research experience in Africa, India, Bangladesh and the UK, Linda has three current research priorities, namely peri-urban ecosystems and sustainability, zoonotic disease and ICTs (mhealth) and health information seeking.
