Matthias Drilling, Prof. Dr., Head of the Institute for Social Planning, Organizational Change and Urban Development at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, School of Social Work, in Basel studied Geography and Economics in Freiburg (Germany). He finished a Master in Spatial Planning at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich. He is MC Member of the COST Action CA15218 “Measuring Homelessness in Europe”. His latest research projects - financed by the EU-COST/SBFI, SNF (incl. NCCR), Cantons and Foundations - focused on sustainable urban development, urban poverty and elderly people in urban life. His methodological approaches are on qualitative analysis (esp. hermeneutics).
